Finals/Sandblast

Key Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation:

  • Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, smooth, or roughen metal surfaces.
  • Remove rust, paint, and other contaminants to prepare surfaces for coating or assembly.
  • Inspect blasted surfaces for uniformity and cleanliness; adjust the process as needed.
  • Load and unload parts from the blast room safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain and clean sandblasting equipment and components regularly.

Finishing & Assembly:

  • Apply paints and coatings using rollers and sprayers,.
  • Assemble final components, including light mechanical and electrical work.
  • Use power tools such as grinders and hand tools to complete finishing tasks.
  • Perform magnet testing and electrical inspections when needed.
  • Ensure all work meets appearance and performance standards.

Quality Control & Documentation:

  • Inspect finished products for defects, proper fit, and compliance with specifications.
  • Record inspection data, component reuse decisions, and quality checks in the Job Information Book (JIB).
  • Coordinate with supervisors and quality teams to resolve production or quality issues.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions when needed.

Communication & Teamwork:

  • Communicate job status, issues, and updates to department manager.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and deadlines.

Safety & Workplace Standards:

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE (goggles, gloves, respirators, hearing protection, etc.).
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience in manufacturing or production.
  • 1+ year of experience in sandblasting, finishing, or related field preferred.
  • Ability to operate sandblasting, painting, and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and basic mechanical assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Comfortable working around magnets and magnetic systems.
  • Ability to recognize color-coded wiring (must be able to see color).
  • Able to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
